Evgenij has broad experience in emerging markets including fixed income products, equities and structured products. He has worked on numerous public and private transactions, with products linked to emerging markets, for over fifteen years.

Evgenij also has extensive experience in the natural resources sector and is currently a Managing Partner of Pala Investments Limited (www.pala.com), an investment fund focused exclusively on the mining sector. His commodity experience extends across a broad range of bulk commodities, precious and base metals, as well as oil and gas.

Prior to joining Pala, Evgenij was at one of the leading metals and mining companies.

Evgenij graduated from the University of Zurich with a Master of Arts degree.

Alejandro Hardziej

Alejandro joined Pala Assets at end of 2019 and supports the fund primarily with bottom-up fundamental analysis. He focuses on the evaluation of individual companies and countries across the Latin America region.

Prior to joining Pala, he worked as a fixed income research analyst at Bank Julius Baer and as an investment analyst at J.P. Morgan Private Bank.

Alejandro holds a Master’s Degree in Investment Management from Cass Business School. He also completed a double Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration at the University of Aalen and University of Belgrano.

Dawn Sauter

Dawn has been with Pala Assets since 2018 and specializes in the fundamental analysis and credit selection of Asian corporates. With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, she primarily focuses on the high yield and Chinese property sector.

Before joining Pala Assets, she was fund manager of the Julius Baer Emerging Market Bond Fund with an AUM exceeding $700 million. Prior to that she was a credit analyst for the J Safra Sarasin Emerging Market Bond fund and research analyst of the Julius Baer Fixed Income research team.

Dawn holds an MBA degree from the University of St. Gallen and a MSc (Econs) from the Singapore Management University.

Jan Weidner

Jan has been co-managing the fund since he joined Pala Assets in 2018. As Chief Executive Officer he holds responsibility for the investment process and its successful execution. With over fifteen years of experience in the financial sector, his focus lies on high yield opportunities across sectors and regions.

Before joining Pala Assets in 2018, Jan was Co-Head of Credit Research at Arrowgrass. He started his career at CQS, where he held several positions in risk, treasury, and credit research.

Jan holds a BSc in Physics from Imperial College, London, and a Master in Finance from London Business School.
